UPDATED 7/11/2009 - Rules for Dog Classes Added Below
General Show Rules - PLEASE READ:
- Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Anyone who is seen behaving poorly or bullying other entrants/judges will be asked to leave without refund.
- No foul language, smoking, inappropriate behavior or running in the hall at any time.
- Entrants, show staff and helpers must wear their badges at all times so you can get back into the show area. There will be a small viewing gallery at the entrance to the show hall for the general public to come in and observe the show. There will be a show helper checking badges & escorting the public in and out of the area.
- Absolutely no touching of another entrant’s horses unless you have explicit permission from that entrant. You will be responsible for damages if you break another entrant’s models. If you need a horse moved to create more space, ask the horse’s owner to move it for you.
- Any entrant who lays a model down understands that the judge will pick it up in order to judge it. Please use a soft foam sheet or bubble wrap when you lay your horse down.
- The decisions of the judges & the show holder are final.
- Please do not approach a judge while she/he is judging a class. If you have a question for the judge, please ask before or after they are done judging.
- Please do not stand around a table that is being judged.
- Please clean up after yourself. Deposit any trash in the appropriate receptacle.
- Absolutely no children under the age of 12 will be allowed in the show hall. If you have a small child or an infant you must make arrangements for their care outside of the hall.
- No pets of any kind allowed.
- Helpers: All helpers will be required to sign the liability release form upon their arrival at the show hall. They may not assist you and will be asked to leave the show hall if there is no signed waiver. You can have only one helper for the entire day. You will not be able to swap assistants mid-day.
- Added 7/7/2009 Helpers #2: Helpers are not considered showers therefore are not permitted to show their own horses. They may not show their horses under your name. They are there to assist you and your horses only.
- People Showing for Proxy Showers: You are responsible for the horses you agreed to proxy before, during and after the show. The show does not have a mail service so you will have to get the horses mailed.
- Added 7/7/2009 Proxy Showers are not permitted in the show hall during the show. They may drop their horses off at the start if they are in town, and may pick them up after the show is over. They may not remain at the show during the show. If a proxy shower remains at the show, they will be asked to pay the balance of their entry fee.
- We will need to vacate the premises by 10:30 pm. This means ALL of your items must be packed up and OUT of the show hall by this time, no exceptions.
- No custom cold painted chinas will be allowed to show in any of the divisions at this show with the exception of dogs. These are considered customized pieces by the show holder and belong at a show with a CM division.
- No Table Sales: We are not permitted to sell anything in the show hall at BBBB. This will be strictly enforced and Breyer will be on hand to check up on us. Please vend from your own room.
- By participating in this show, you understand that the staff, helpers and management of Breakables n' BreyerFest Birthday Bash & Breyer/Reeves International will not be held liable or responsible for any damage, destruction, loss or theft of any entrant's possessions at this event nor to the entrant themselves by participating in this event. You understand that the show holder, volunteers, judges, staff and Breyer/Reeves International have no control over or the ability to entirely prevent accidents involving broken china models. Your participation in this event serves as your acceptance of these rules and regulations as stated in the show packet, on the websites/advertisements, and on various Yahoogroups. You understand that some terms will be subject to change and that you are responsible for making sure you understand any changes that may arise. You also understand that your helper/proxy will be held to the same rules and regulations as outlined for this show.
Class Rules and Judging Criteria:
- There is no limit on the number of entries you can have per class. If a class is too large for the ring, we will either take over another ring’s tables for the class, or we will look at the entries to determine a suitable split. Keep in mind though that we do have a finite amount of time to be in the show hall so plan your show string & pack accordingly.
- Each horse can only enter ONE breed class and ONE collectibility class (ONE breed and ONE workmanship for CM china). Lakeshore models MUST show in the Lakeshore division – no cross entry into other divisions.
- Foals cannot cross enter into an adult class. In CM Glaze, foals may enter into ONE workmanship class in addition to their ONE foal breed class.
- Breed Classes: All judges will judge breed classes for anatomy, biomechanics, conformation & appropriate breed specific characteristics. Collectibility/workmanship will not be used in these classes unless the judge has two horses of equal weight and uses collectibility/workmanship to break the tie.
- Collectibility/Workmanship: All judges will use collectibility characteristics such as rarity, age, condition, and desirability when judging collectibility, and will use technique, color selection, finish work and detailing when judging workmanship. ALL HORSES WILL NEED AN INDEX CARD TO BE JUDGED ON COLLECTIBILITY. NO CARD IS REQUIRED FOR CM GLAZE WORKMANSHIP. Any horse without a collectibility card describing why they are collectible (e.g. run 50 for BreyerFest 2002) will not be judged on collectibility, just breed.
- Please set up like mold with like to make it easier for the judges - e.g. all Sespes should be lined up together.
Rules for Dog Classes
All dogs must be shown wearing a white tag on a leg, tag is either 1” or 2” long. Please write clearly or print a sticker on one side of the tag:
Dog name
Breed
Gender (Dog for male and Bitch for female)
Age
Owner’s 3 initials
Indicate OF or CM
This must be facing up when the puppy or dog is on the judging table. Models without tags will not be judged.
This show is open to all model dogs of any size, customized and OF china. No limit on total number of entries per class.
Points – Since NAN does not recognize non-equine models, the NEMDE maintains its own system for rewarding excellence in showing. Breakables at the Breyerfest Birthday Bash is a NEMDE point qualifying show. Points will be awarded based on wins, which may be accumulated to earn a NEMDE Champion of Record in conformation (NEMDE ChoR), a Performance Champion of Record (NEMDE PChoR), a Collectability Champion of Record (CChoR – limited to OFs) or a Workmanship Championship of Record (WChoR – CMs only). Different colored cards much like NAN cards will be given to 1st – 5th place winners in each class. When a dog earns the title of Champion of Record, he/she will be eligible to compete in a special class for Champions of Record only. When 15 points have been accumulated, the cards must be sent to Linda Dean to be recorded and to receive their award. The point system will be as follows:
Conformation points – dogs will be awarded 5 points for 1st place, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th and 1 point for 5th place in each group. When a dog earns 15 points in conformation (group) showing, he/she will become a ChoR and receive a certificate and/or medallion. Brace Class wins will NO LONGER count towards a ChoR. The Brace Class winner will be awarded a rosette but no championship points (exception – dogs who placed in the first NEMDE show Brace Class will be allowed to count the points they received towards their championships).
